Friends of the Tubac Presidio and Museum President and Treasurer Tom Walsh talks about his organization being one of 17 organizations nationwide to receive funding in the inaugural round of funding from the Semiquincentennial Grant Program, commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. Walsh also gives us a sneak peek of the buildings at Tubac Presidio State Historic Park that need to be restored.

I wrote a story about the rehabilitation project that will be in the Sunday, Sept. 18 edition of the Green Valley News.

Walsh was also nice enough to give me a guided tour of the museum at the park, featuring 2,000 years of history of the native peoples, Spanish colonials, Mexicans, and United States pioneers that once called the area home.

I will save that video for another time.
